1930 Semi-detached house, Solihull, West Midlands
This property is north facing to the front, as a result the two bedrooms at the front of the property struggle to retain heat and the one bedroom at the rear is consistently too warm in the summer months. The property is fitted with gas central heating.

LG Air Conditioning
Perfect for the home or office environments.
AA Cooling installed a unit to the upstairs landing and turned off all gas radiators upstairs and reduced the thermostat heat on the towel rail in the bathroom. The air conditioning unit is set to run on a timer, the property owner also keeps the remote control by the bedside in case they want to adjust the temperature without leaving bed.
This unit was installed in December 2013 and the owner has just received a rebate of over £800 from his gas utility supplier (in June 2014). Please take a look at the cost savings table for more information.
Garden Studio
The growing need for home working combined with relaxed planning laws for standalone garden buildings has seen an increase in the need for efficient heating/cooling in these rooms.
"Air Conditioning is the perfect solution for a garden studio or home office."
We recently installed a fully insulated garden studio complete with a Mitsubishi Air Conditioning unit. The combination of the insulation and Air Conditioning presented a cosy and energy efficient space for the home-owner and her clients. She chose to utilise the timer control to operate the system for 1 hour each day. This means that the studio is at an ambient temperature each morning. Furthermore, she can override this as when she needs to. So far this space has been used as a photography studio and accommodates occasional overnight house guests.
Conservatory
Air conditioning is proving to be a popular choice for conservatories, garden rooms and summer-houses.
A simple, one day installation can transform an otherwise too hot/too cold room into a fully habitable space.
Make use of your conservatory
Instead of replacing your conservatory roof, have you considered air conditioning to keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter?
Many of our clients comment that air conditioning made their conservatory into a much more user friendly space.
In the summer months it is possible to feel the benefit of the cooling throughout the ground floor of the average property.
The customers said:
"AA Cooling recently installed an air conditioning unit in our conservatory. The conservatory was on the house when we bought it and was a real feature for us, however, we didn’t realise how hot it would get in Summer and bitterly cold in Winter. We looked at numerous ways to improve the space including roof replacement and underfloor heating. These were really expensive options with considerable upheaval which, with two babies, was a non-starter.
Rob installed the air conditioning in one day with no fuss or mess. The unit is inconspicuous and we have it set to switch off and on at programmed times, in the same way we would with central heating. We can’t believe the difference, we now have a really cosy playroom for our little ones and it’s great for getting the washing dry on rainy days. It costs pennies to run and has reduced our heating bill. We are now considering installing another unit upstairs!"
